Lewis Putnam Gleason (born Feb. 28, 1800 in Pomfret, CT; died Jan. 22, 1885) married Sophronia Butler on Mar. 3, 1826; she died Jan. 6, 1827 and he married Lucy Butler on Oct. 2, 1827; she died Oct. 30, 1846 and he married Susan Davis on Oct. 20, 1847. Lewis, a shoemaker, left from home on foot carrying his possessions; he intended to walk to maine to visit his grandmother but found employment in Bedford with Benjamin Simonds, a shoe manufacturer, where he remained until he died.
