Hodgman photo. Writing on reverse reads, " Mrs. Prescott ?Nurkar? Cemetary." Believed to show Mrs. Mary Taylor Prescott at the grave of her brother, John Taylor. Writing on the tombstone reads, "John Taylor Died May 26 1850." Based on research, John Taylor, the son of Abel & Sarrah (Hodgman) Taylor (either a carpenter or shoemaker), died of consumption on that date. He is buried in Green Cemetary in Carlisle, MA. In addition, Mary Taylor, daughter of Abel and Sarrah, married Humphrey Prescott (also buried in Green Cemetary in Carlisle). |
