1. Manuscript - Typewritten manuscript, untitled, an overview of Bedford's history. Written on first page: "Talk by Nathan H. Daniels at Bedford 200 year anniversary. May 22, 1952." [Bedford's 200th anniversary was on September 23, 1929.] Talk was apparently given in conjunction with a slide show, perhaps P1993.12.1 ? Photograph - Two Brothers Rocks; in 1638, John Winthrope, the present Governor, was granted 1,200 acres of land (had formerly been 1,000 acres) on the south side of the stones and Thomas Dudley, the Deputy Governor, was granted 1,000 acres of land on the north side of the stones. A stone wall appears behind the Winthrop rock. Typed on paper: "Sept. 23. 1897. Bedford to So. Billerica. Mr. Geo. P. Greenwood's. 'We start off at once in a carriage to the "Brothers Rocks," a famous boundary between Govs. Winthrop and Dudley in 1638, on the bank of Concord River, and just over the line in Bedford. They are perhaps fifty feet apart. A bountiful supper and quiet eve'g!' Handwritten on back of paper: "Rev. C. C. Carpenter, Andover Mass."
